Alates aastast 1967, AMG on täiustanud Mercedes-Benz sõidukeid nii välimuse kui ka võimsuse poolest. Alates 1993, AMG sõidukid on üks osa MB tootmisest. Siiani on võimalik tellida nii täispakett AMG d kui ka täiustada enda omat AMG originaaldetailidega.

W123 E Class

1980-1985

V8 conversion for w123 sedan and wagon models. Conversion included the 5.0 16v V8 known from the 500SE / SL with 240 hp.

1985-1993

All w124 could get AMG bodykit, wheels, brakes and suspension, as well as AMG gauges,doorsills and shiftknob etc.

230E: Engine tuning to 160 hp.
300E: Engine conversion to 3.3 liters. 220 hp.
300E-24: Engine conversion to 3.2 liters. 234 hp (>1991)
300E-24: Engine conversion to 3.4 liters. 272 hp. (1991<)

AMG-Hammer 1985-1989

The AMG hammer featured a converted V8 engine from 560SEL/SEC. The engine was bored to 6.0 liters and fitted with a 32valve top, which gave this car 380 hp. The engine bay had to be completely redesigned, the battery was put in the trunk to compensate for the huge weight of the engine. Sedan, coupe and wagon models were made. 0-100 figures were about 5 seconds and top speed above 300 kmh.

1993-1997

The newly developed 3.6 inline 6 engine from the new C36 AMG quickly found its way to the recently facelifted w124. A few special edition cabriolets were built until 1997.

AMG pakkus W116/W123-le ka mootori forsseerimise võimalust, kuskil 10-20% saadi hobuseid juurde, kõikidele bensukatele pakuti. Samuti sai sportsisu, AMG Penta velgesid (15-16"), BBS kärgvelgesid (17"), sportroole jms tellida. Kahjuks ei mäleta, kust ma selle leidsin...
Esimene AMG oli vist W109 300SEL 6.8 (puuritud 6.3-st).

Võib olla olete kuulnud ka W116 450SEL 7.2-st, kuid see pole AMG. Lihtsalt mingi entusiast läks hulluks ja tegi sellise triki, vist oli see Ameerikas.
